Dan Aykroyd was the only member of the original SNL cast to read the script
Line of Events
On October 11, 1975 at 11:30 PM, a fierce troupe of young comedians and writers changed television forever. Find out what happened behind the scenes in the 90 minutes leading up to the premiere of Saturday Night Live (1975). Matt Wood stars as John Belushi on Saturday Night, meet the rest of the cast and their real-life counterparts.
In reality, he arrived immediately
When the show airs live, John Belushi enters the frame 39 seconds late through a door. Lorne Michaels: Listen, my name is Lorne Michaels, I’m the producer of “Saturday Night.” Doorman: All night? Lorne Michaels: [sarcastic] Yeah, all night.
A real roller coaster
The film opens with a quote from Lorne Michaels: “The show doesn’t go on because it’s ready, it goes on because it’s 11:30 PM.” Featured in Eddie Murphy: The Black King of Hollywood (2023). Ixoo ‘Chickenweed’ Chawz Written by Don Cento and Martin Garner Performed by Don Cento and Martin Garner. A really energetic and entertaining film!
The soundtrack and audio were incredible and very engaging
as they prepare to put on the first episode of SNL. A lot of the actors did a great job, and the film makes us feel like we’re there as all the craziness was happening to make the show run smoothly. Just an adrenaline rush, and we feel the pressure as the clock ticks closer to 11:30 PM.
We get little glimpses of the characters we know who helped create the show, and the main focus is on Michaels
While I’m not sure the movie is entirely accurate, it’s still a great ride and a must-see for any SNL fan.
